Basketball Recap: Bob Jones Academy Takes a Loss

Bob Jones Academy was the 57-55 winner over First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Bob Jones Academy took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest on Tuesday. The matchup marked Bob Jones Academy's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew Rollings led the charge by shooting 67% from the field on his way to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Marshall Bears was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 15 points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Bob Jones Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bob Jones Academy will take on New Covenant School at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest, they will be playing at home against Laurens Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
