The Bandys Trojans had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past Foard 67-37 on the road. Bandys' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Bandys got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kate Dutka out in front who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. Dutka also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Rachel Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
When it comes to explaining why Foard lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Kinzer Abernathy. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Davoney Dellinger , who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Foard struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Bandys' victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5. As for Foard, their loss dropped their record down to 5-1.
Bandys will head out on the road to face off against Patton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Foard, they will be playing at home against West Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Lincoln will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while Foard is ranked 173rd).
