The Chisholm Longhorns and the Jones Longhorns squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Chisholm Longhorns had to settle for second. Chisholm was dealt a 53-8 loss at the hands of Jones. Chisholm was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.
Isaiah Sawyer was a one-man wrecking crew for Jones as he rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Sawyer was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Mason Weiher was in the mix too, providing Jones with two touchdowns.
Chisholm are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.3 points per game. As for Jones, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Chisholm does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jones will be playing at home against Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Davis is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
