After flying high against Mary M. Knight on Wednesday, Wahkiakum came back down to earth. The Mules took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pe Ell Trojans on Saturday. The Mules' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Wahkiakum started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-21.

Pe Ell can attribute much of their success to Sophia Milanowski, who had 18 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Milanowski has posted since back in October.

Wahkiakum's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Pe Ell, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wahkiakum will host Willapa Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pe Ell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ocosta at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
