The West Broward Bobcats and the South Dade Buccaneers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the West Broward Bobcats had to settle for second. West Broward fell 43-31 to South Dade. West Broward's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
West Broward's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jonathan Morillo, who threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and Joshua Moore who picked up 75 receiving yards and a touchdown. Zaheed Pierre got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
South Dade found their leader in underclassman Jean Calixte, who threw for 313 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Sedric Melvin, who picked up 171 receiving yards and a touchdown.
West Broward's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for South Dade, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
West Broward does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Dade will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on November 17th. Columbus presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Dade in Florida (Columbus is ranked 28th, while South Dade is ranked 90th).
