The North Rose-Wolcott Cougars will head out to square off against the Gananda Central Blue Panthers at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
Monday just wasn't the day for North Rose-Wolcott's offense. They came up short against Williamson on Monday, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Marauders: they've now lost four in a row.

North Rose-Wolcott saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Crane, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Crane has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Gananda Central had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 8-4.
Henry Shutts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks.
At the plate, Gananda Central let Owen Switzer and Will Schneemann run wild. Switzer went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Schneemann went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Switzer a new career-high. Brady Wadsworth was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Gananda Central's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for North Rose-Wolcott, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Rose-Wolcott has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Gananda Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
North Rose-Wolcott might still be hurting after the 17-1 loss they got from Gananda Central in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
