The University School Preppers will take on the South Rebels at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in University School's favor as the team sits on 15 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while South has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
University School lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Chardon, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Preppers never let the Hilltoppers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Preppers, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Slater Schoaf, who gave up just a hit to keep Chardon off the board.
At the plate, Aaron Moss was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Nelson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
University School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chardon only posted a batting average of .045.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South). They were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over Kenston on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Rebels have posted against the Bombers since April 18, 2019.
South's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for University School, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
