Softball Recap: Moses Lake Extends Winning Streak to Three

Moses Lake had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let the Cheney Blackhawks get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Mavericks have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Paige Richardson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Addi Reffett was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Mya Martinez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Moses Lake's record is now 8-3. As for Cheney, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moses Lake will venture away from home to challenge Mount Si at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Wildcats have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Cheney, they will face off against Gonzaga Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blackhawks are facing the Bullpups at the right time seeing as the Bullpups are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
