Volleyball Recap: Wessington Springs Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

If Iroquois/Lake Preston wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wessington Springs, they should've done a better job of containing Remie Roduner. The Spartans walked away with a 3-1 victory over Iroquois/Lake Preston on Tuesday with plenty of help from Roduner, who had 20 digs and one assist. Roduner is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season.

Wessington Springs had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-13, 25-21, 25-20.

The win made it two in a row for Wessington Springs and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Iroquois/Lake Preston, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wessington Springs will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sanborn Central/Woonsocket at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Iroquois/Lake Preston, they will welcome Arlington at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
