This season hasn't been kind to The Pinnacle Timberwolves, who are still winless after their fifth game. They fell 58-51 to Bennett on Tuesday. The Pinnacle was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bennett apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the defeat, The Pinnacle saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Arellano scored 20 points along with four steals. Yahir Chavira was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, The Pinnacle were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Bennett's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Stiers, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Francis, who scored 12 points.
The Pinnacle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Bennett, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Pinnacle will take on Arrupe Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Arrupe Jesuit is ranked 317th, while The Pinnacle is ranked 311th). As for Bennett, they will be playing at home against Lake County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lake County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
