Skyline had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-14 to make it 11. They came up short against the Woods Cross Wildcats, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-13 back in March.
Isabelle Rupp was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Woods Cross, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. That 15-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
On Woods Cross' side, Bree Benson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Benson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Whitney Winegar and Savannah Juggert did most of the damage at the plate: Winegar went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Juggert went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Juggert has posted since back in March of 2025. Bahiyyih Hemos also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Skyline didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-11 defeat against Alta on the 23rd. As for Woods Cross, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-11 loss against Weber on the 22nd.
