Springboro got a great performance from Dylan Brabston as he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Brabston has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Adam Smith was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Evan King was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Springboro's record is now 5-2. As for Springfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springboro will venture away from home to square off against Butler at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
