Delta is 0-6 against Carbon since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Delta Rabbits' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Carbon Dinos at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Delta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Carbon is ranked 23rd).
Delta suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 60-30 loss at the hands of Emery. Delta was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.
Meanwhile, Carbon waltzed into their game on Tuesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They took down Juab 60-46. Carbon pushed the score to 48-27 by the end of the third, a deficit Juab cut but never quite recovered from.
Carbon relied on the efforts of Madison Orth, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Amiah Timothy, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and four steals. Orth hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Kylan Sorenson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Delta dropped their record down to 5-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Carbon, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
Delta was dealt a bruising 67-24 defeat at the hands of Carbon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Delta was down 35-15.
