2A Patriot recap September 4, 2013
Kyle Rosenbrock of Brush ran for the longest rushing play in 2A Patriot this season against Wray last week. Rosenbrock scampered for 65 yards on the play and finished with 95 on the day as his team defeated the Eagles.
University was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. The Bulldogs beat Highland 42-0 earlier in the week.
Jeff Merritt put up the best numbers through the air as Fort Lupton bested Middle Park. He finished with a total of 9 completions for 172 yards and 3 touchdowns. Merritt's favorite target this week was Colton McCutchan, who caught 2 passes for 73 yards.
Davis Anders was the best wideout in the league this week as Eaton fell to Roosevelt. Anders tallied 7 receptions for 96 yards. Ty Gavette helped Eaton's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 44 yards.
Randy Baker was the best running back in 2A Patriot this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 113 yards as Brush lost to the Roughriders.
Jose Rodriguez made the biggest impact on defense this week as Randy Dreitz's team beat Wray. He.
Valley fell to Mead 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
