It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Campolindo Cougars can now relate to. They took a 38-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Ramon Valley on Friday. While losing is never fun, Campolindo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while San Ramon Valley is ranked 28th).
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joe Revelos, who picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Mack Fisher made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
San Ramon Valley can attribute much of their success to Matthew Garibaldi, who rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Campolindo's loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1. As for San Ramon Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Campolindo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. San Ramon Valley will face off against De La Salle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. De La Salle is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.
