The Chandler Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the Casteel Colts at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Chandler is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Chandler got the win against Camelback by a conclusive 21-4. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Sarah Hartrumph looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had over her last six contests.
On the hitting side, Cian Noli was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Jocelyn Englehardt also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Chandler was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Casteel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Basha.
Lauren Fullton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Jordin Branch was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
Chandler's record now sits at 9-13. As for Casteel, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
Casteel's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chandler has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. It's a different story for Casteel, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain Chandler's hitters?
Everything went Chandler's way against Casteel when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Chandler made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
