Dorman (Roebuck, S.C.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 21 in the fourth quarter to seal a 49-14 victory over Mauldin (S.C.).
The Cavaliers were up 21-7 at the half after taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the second quarter.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 14 entering the fourth.
Jaelin Pearson and
Trey Robinson ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Mavericks. Pearson scored two touchdowns on the ground and Robinson added three as well.
Dorman went into the matchup giving up only 13.6 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 50-0 win for DHS.
The defeat comes as a step back for Mauldin, which notched a 64-37 victory over Wade Hampton in its previous outing. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Roebuck school, which was coming off a 14-0 defeat at the hands of Gaffney in its previous game. The loss snapped Mauldin's 2-game winning streak.
Dorman (4-2) goes up against Spartanburg in a AAAA Region II game matchup next week, while Mauldin (3-3) locks horns with Gaffney also in a AAAA Region II game.
