Andover fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against North Andover on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Scarlet Knights by a score of 3-2. The Golden Warriors' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Andover saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Ilsley, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Andover's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for North Andover, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Andover is set to take on their familiar foe Lowell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, North Andover will challenge rival Lawrence at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Scarlet Knights 2.9, the Lancers 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
