A Season-Best Effort from Madden Brabec Leads Wood River over Superior
Wood River was led to victory by Madden Brabec, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Brabec rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 105 yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 85 yards.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Wood River, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Brabec and Wood River are taking a road trip to take on Doniphan-Trumbull at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ethan Ballard was instrumental in extending Doniphan-Trumbull's winning streak to five on Friday. St. Cecilia had no answer to Ballard as he threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
On the year, Ballard has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 165.6 passing yards per game.
