The Cesar Chavez Champions will challenge the Camelback Spartans at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Camelback took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Cesar Chavez, who comes in off a win.
 Last Friday,  everything came up roses for Cesar Chavez on the road  against Fairfax as the  team secured  a  52-7 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Champions.
 Cesar Chavez found their leader in underclassman  Mason Penrod, who threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns while completing 92.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.  Peyton Stokes was another key player, picking up 148 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cesar Chavez was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 204  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since  back in September of 2023.
 Cesar Chavez's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as  Mj Woodberry,  Eddie Serna, and  Myles Johnson picked up one apiece. The dominant performance gave  Johnson a new career-high in  rushing yards. Cesar Chavez got some further help from  Tyes Graves: he picked up  a  sack, made 11 total tackles (4.0 for loss), and defended a pass.
 Meanwhile, Camelback ended up a good deal behind Desert Edge on Thursday and lost  24-6.
 Cesar Chavez's win  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 2-1. As for Camelback, they now  have a losing record at 1-2.
