After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lamar Christian, Sylva Bay Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past Discovery Christian 50-16. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Sylva Bay Academy found their leader in sophomore Sydney Poole, who posted 11 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Poole also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Sylva Bay Academy is 4-2 when she posts at least three steals, but 5-7 otherwise. Reese Shumock was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Sylva Bay Academy moved to 9-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Discovery Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sylva Bay Academy and Prentiss Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Discovery Christian, they will face off against Laurel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
