The Broome Street Academy Warriors will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Winchendon Wapiti at 2:00 p.m. Broome Street Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 2,169 points over their last 28 games.
After soaring to a 28-point victory in their last game, Broome Street Academy came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of Redemption Christian Academy by a score of 63-61. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Broome Street Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the are ranked 649th).
Despite the loss, Broome Street Academy got a solid performance out of Andre Wright, who shot 5-for-9 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Demitrius Gould, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Winchendon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in January after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a serious blow against Broome Street Academy, falling 112-81. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Broome Street Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Winchendon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
