Basketball Recap: Johan Camacho Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Irvin

Bowie won the last time they faced Irvin and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bowie Bears came out on top against the Irvin Rockets by a score of 51-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Bowie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Johan Camacho, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 boards. Camacho has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Montanez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Bowie was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Irvin only racked up nine assists.

Irvin lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sebastian Sepulveda, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 17 points and three steals. Sepulveda continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Keanu Timoteo, who posted eight points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Bowie's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Irvin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.

Bowie has already played their next contest, a 63-50 victory against Austin on the 24th. As for Irvin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-41 win against Harmony School of Innovation on the 28th.
