After flying high against Sacred Hearts Academy  last Friday, University Laboratory School came back down to earth. The Junior Rainbows fell  3-1 to the Mid-Pacific Institute Owls on Thursday. The  defeat   continues a  trend for the Junior Rainbows in their meetings with the Owls: they've now lost three in a row.
 University Laboratory School was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mid-Pacific Institute work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-20, 27-29,  25-11.
 Mid-Pacific Institute's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Mia Furoyama led the charge by  getting 12  digs and two  aces. Furoyama has been hot recently, having  posted ten or more  digs the last four times she's  played.  Maia Hu was another key player,  getting 11  digs.
University Laboratory School's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Mid-Pacific Institute,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 12-4.
 University Laboratory School has  already played their next  contest (against Hawaii Baptist Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  3-1  defeat against 'Iolani on the 22nd.
