Guyer is 7-1 against Little Elm since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Guyer Wildcats will be playing at home against the Little Elm Lobos at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Guyer didn't have too much trouble with Prosper on the road as they won 79-63. Given Guyer's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Prosper is ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Little Elm's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of McKinney by a score of 62-60. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Little Elm in their matchups with McKinney: they've now lost eight in a row.
Little Elm's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kensington Candler, who scored 19 points, and Camron Brown who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Brock Daly, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Guyer has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. As for Little Elm, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-17 record this season.
Guyer was able to grind out a solid victory over Little Elm in their previous meeting back in January, winning 84-72. Will Guyer repeat their success, or does Little Elm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
