Perry is a perfect 10-0 against McKinley since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Perry has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Perry is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since June 7, 2025 on Monday. They fell just short of Louisville by a score of 3-1.
Meanwhile, McKinley waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Tiger 12-5. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Hailey Smith and Jenevieve Swain were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Smith pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Swain pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Smith has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances. At bat, Smith went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Swain went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI. That's the most runs Smith has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Kylee Delgado was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijahne Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
McKinley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Perry's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for McKinley, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Perry got the 'W' when the teams last played on April 2nd against McKinley by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
