Basketball Recap: Stafford Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Stafford Indians had to suffer through a 93-66 loss at the hands of the Highland Springs Springers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (56), the Indians still had to take the loss.

Stafford's loss came despite strong showings from Jackson Wallace and Mason Bracey. Wallace went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points and six assists, while Bracey went 10 of 16 on his way to 25 points. The game was Bracey's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Bacchus, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Stafford and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Highland Springs, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Stafford will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Stafford at 6:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Highland Springs will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Hopewell at 8:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. One thing working in Highland Springs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
