Belleville West had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Riverview Gardens 41-14. Belleville West was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast. This was the first game for both teams, giving Belleville West a 1-0 record and starting Riverview Gardens off at 0-1.
Next week, Belleville West take on O'Fallon at 7:00 PM. As for Riverview Gardens, they will face of against Poplar Bluff.
