It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Geneva Vikings can now relate to. They were dealt a 41-7 loss at the hands of Cary-Grove on Saturday. Geneva's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Nate Stempowski threw for 52 yards and a touchdown. Bryce Breon was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cary-Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Prio, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also caught a touchdown. Prio was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Logan Abrams was in the mix too, providing Cary-Grove with two touchdowns.
Geneva's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Cary-Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Geneva does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cary-Grove also has no future games currently scheduled.
