The Johansen Vikings''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Davis. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Johansen in their matchups with Davis: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Johansen still got an impressive performance from Tek Garcia, who rushed for 186 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Garcia was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards.
It was another big night for Izzy Sanchez, who threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns. Miguel Olvera Deanda also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.
Johansen's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Davis, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johansen will take on Beyer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beyer comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Davis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ceres at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
