The Midland Legacy Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Pebble Hills Spartans at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Midland Legacy's tournament run continued when they took on Eastwood on Friday. Midland Legacy came up short against Eastwood, falling 10-2. The Rebels have struggled against the Troopers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Midland Legacy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sadie Davis, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Even though they lost, Midland Legacy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Pebble Hills sidestepped Andrews for a 7-6 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.
The team relied heavily on Riley Cassiday, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Ciana Quinones was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Midland Legacy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Pebble Hills, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Midland Legacy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Pebble Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
