Knox Chambliss looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bryson Sheppard was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, Faith Academy won against Warren Central on Saturday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Faith Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Hernando 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.
Christian Freeman looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Faith Academy's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Collin Hall, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Auburn's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Faith Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Faith Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Auburn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. It's a different story for Faith Academy, though, as they've only averaged .139. Will they be able to contain Auburn's hitters?
