Christopher is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Live Oak is on a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Christopher Cougars will take on the Live Oak Acorns at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Christopher's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six contests.
Christopher put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They beat Leland by the very same score they won with last week: 42-0. Given Christopher's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 266th, while Leland is ranked 661st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Live Oak didn't have too much trouble with Oak Grove on the road on Thursday as they won 28-10.
The critical scores for Live Oak came from Austin Jennings, Josh Gagni, and Tanner Holeman.
Their wins bumped Christopher to 9-0 and Live Oak to 8-0.
Christopher came out on top in a nail-biter against Live Oak in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, sneaking past 21-19. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Live Oak's Jordan Fuentes, who rushed for 207 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Christopher to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
