If Franklin Heights wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Bishop Ready, they should've done a better job of containing Sophia Dozer. The Silver Knights put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday thanks in part to Dozer, who had 11 digs and four assists. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.
Bishop Ready's got stronger as the match went on, holding Franklin Heights to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-8.
Meanwhile, North Union was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwestern on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1.
North Union walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 25-14.
Bishop Ready's record is now 16-2. As for North Union, their record now sits at 15-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Bishop Ready has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 15 aces per game. However, it's not like North Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Bishop Ready couldn't quite get it done against North Union when the teams last played back in August of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Silver Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
