There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
St. Paul's got a 42 - 6 win over Cushing Academy last week, and a key reason for the win was sophomore Malcolm Bussey. Bussey ran for 161 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. That performance made Bussey one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Pinkerton (5th in the power rankings) and Windham (6th). Pinkerton lost to Windham 35 - 21. As a result, Pinkerton fell three positions in the power rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
There were a lot of high-scoring contests in the power rankings last week, but the 87-point effort in this one put it right at the top of the list. Manchester Central enjoyed a cozy 51 - 36 win over Concord. As a result, Manchester Central rose one spot in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Merrimack (8th in the power rankings) and Bedford (1st). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Both the Merrimack and Bedford defenses have allowed few points this year (averaging ten ppg and 9.14 ppg, respectively), so the teams might find scoring more difficult than usual this week.
