Basketball Recap: Adalynn Day's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hope Christian over Albuquerque Academy

If Hope Christian was riding high fresh off their 67-31 takedown of Bernalillo last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hope Christian Huskies fell to the Albuquerque Academy Chargers 55-49. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

Hope Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adalynn Day, who posted nine points and eight boards. Day has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mia Bishop, who scored 11 points and five rebounds.

Addie Spratley was her usual excellent self, going 13 for 21 en route to 29 points in addition to seven boards and five blocks for Albuquerque Academy. That's the most points Spratley has posted since back in January of 2024. Lily Skarsgard was another key player, going 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points along with seven assists and three steals.

Hope Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Albuquerque Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Hope Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-24 victory against Valley on the 28th. Albuquerque Academy has also already played their next game, a 54-46 win against Del Norte on the 28th.
