The Olean Huskies posted their closest victory yet this season on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 win over Fredonia. That's another feather in the cap for Olean, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Fredonia lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mike Hahn, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Putney, who scored seven points.
Olean's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Fredonia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olean will take on Salamanca at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salamanca is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. As for Fredonia, they will be playing at home against Allegany-Limestone at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Allegany-Limestone is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
