Riverview has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Monroe Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverview knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Monroe likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Riverview really took it to Grosse Ile for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-7 win at home. The result was nothing new for Riverview, who have now won six matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Nathan Pinkava continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 169 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Riverview also got a significant boost from Ashton Robinson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Meanwhile, Monroe's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 21-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bedford.
Riverview's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating across those contests too: they took their wins by an average of 25 points. As for Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Riverview took their victory against Monroe in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 49-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riverview since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
