The Ashbrook Greenwave will head out on the road to face off against the Huss Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither Ashbrook nor Huss posted many points in their last games could muster much offensive firepower in their last games.
Last Thursday, Ashbrook was the victim of a tough 24-3 loss at the hands of Kings Mountain. While losing is never fun, Ashbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Kings Mountain is ranked 16th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-3, which was the final score in Huss' tilt against Crest last Thursday. Huss has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losses dropped Ashbrook to 3-6 and Huss to 4-5.
Ashbrook was able to grind out a solid victory over Huss in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, winning 21-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ashbrook since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
