The Ridgeview Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Baker County on the road to the tune of 72-37. With that win, Ridgeview brought their scoring average up to 51.3 points per game.
Ridgeview was led to victory by Nia Blocton and Nacoya Blocton. Blocton dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Blocton scored 32 points along with eight steals and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blocton has scored all season. Aniyah Campbell was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Baker County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Yamise Haygood, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Haygood is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zaniah Blake, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Ridgeview is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Baker County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.
Ridgeview will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Trinity Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Trinity Christian Academy is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. Baker County will take on Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Columbia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
