Edison had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They beat the Spencer-Van Etten Panthers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Edison let Maycie Bennett and Katrina Cook run wild. Bennett went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Cook went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emily Aiello, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Edison hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matches.

Edison's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Spencer-Van Etten, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edison will host Notre Dame at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Spencer-Van Etten, they will square off against Charles O. Dickerson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
