First Baptist Christian pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Salette Academy. It was the first time this season that First Baptist Christian let down their fans at home.
It was another big night for Charles Prather, who scored 29 points along with nine rebounds for La Salette Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Prather has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eamon Martin, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
First Baptist Christian's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. As for La Salette Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
First Baptist Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wabash Valley HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. La Salette Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Assumption Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Assumption Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
