After only one run in their last game, Yuma Catholic made sure to put some runs up on the board against Tonopah Valley on Wednesday. The Shamrocks were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Phoenix. The Shamrocks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Leonel Avelar was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Topete, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Yuma Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tonopah Valley only posted an OBP of .143.

Yuma Catholic's win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Tonopah Valley, they dropped their record down to 10-11-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Yuma Catholic will host Chino Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Tonopah Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 25th.
