The Highland Rams will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Mountain Ridge Sentinels at 11:30 a.m. on December 29th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While it was all tied up 28-28 at halftime, Highland was not quite Riverton's equal in the second half last Wednesday. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Highland falling 66-50.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from George Mcconkie, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Isaiah Drisdom was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Skyline by a score of 56-53. Mountain Ridge has not had much luck with Skyline recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Mountain Ridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Wyatt Sylvester, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists, was perhaps the best of all. Sylvester set a new season high mark in steals with five. Another player making a difference was Spencer Krainich, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Highland have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 33.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mountain Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 27.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Highland came up short against Mountain Ridge in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 55-49. Can Highland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
