The Shelley Russets pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between them and Hillcrest wasn't particularly close, with Shelley falling 70-56. While losing is never fun, Shelley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Hillcrest is ranked tenth).
It was another big night for Ike Sutton, who scored 23 points along with five assists and two steals for Hillcrest. Sutton is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last four games he's played. Talan Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Shelley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11. As for Hillcrest, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-6.
Shelley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hillcrest also has no future games currently scheduled.
