The Northeastern Jets lost against the Bradford Railroaders back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Northeastern fell to Bradford 56-52. Northeastern has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Northeastern saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Smith scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Neer, who scored nine points.
Northeastern has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Bradford, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeastern will take on West Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northeastern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for Bradford, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Dixie at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (Bradford is ranked 533rd, while Dixie is ranked 520th).
