After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Springfield, Maumee was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fostoria Redmen a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Hannah Ruiz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
