Hooks has gone 9-1 against Redwater recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hooks Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Redwater Dragons at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Hooks' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
On Tuesday, Hooks made easy work of New Boston and carried off a 15-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won eight in a row.
Hooks got a great performance from Darla Jones as she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Jones has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anna Beth Black was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Keeli Harris was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Hooks hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in four consecutive contests.
Redwater hadn't beaten Queen City on the road since April 10, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. Redwater sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Queen City. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dragons have posted against the Bulldogs since April 5, 2019.
The team relied heavily on Kyndlee Clark, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Karly Jo Brown also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Redwater has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-10-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. Hooks' record is now 13-5.
Redwater's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hooks hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. It's a different story for Redwater, though, as they've only averaged .230. Will they be able to contain Hooks' hitters?
Hooks came out on top in a nail-biter against Redwater in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hooks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
