The Christopher Bearcats won the last time they faced the Trico Pioneers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Christopher came out on top against Trico by a score of 51-42. The win made it back-to-back wins for Christopher.
It was another big night for Amiah Hargrove, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Christopher's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kirstin Brown, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Trico lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hayleigh Franklin, who scored 11 points along with six assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Franklin has scored all season. Whitney Lovel was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Christopher is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Trico, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christopher on the road again on Saturday and play against Sesser-Valier/Waltonville at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Sesser-Valier/Waltonville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Trico, they will head out on the road to challenge Shawnee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
