Last Monday, Victory College Prep didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Argonauts, but they still walked away with a 55-50 victory. The win was just what Victory College Prep needed coming off of a 78-20 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Irvington Preparatory Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against Providence Cristo Rey as Irvington Preparatory Academy made off with a 90-67 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-26.
Irvington Preparatory Academy had a senior duo take command as Major Davis scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks and Javen Medaris scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Davis is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jahmere Evans, who scored 12 points.
Victory College Prep's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-9 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Victory College Prep lost to the at home by a decisive 68-54 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Victory College Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
